dc.description.abstractPT Len Industri (Persero), as a defense electronics manufacturing company, faces the problem of high reject rates on the Octopack Casing component of the GCI Radar, particularly in surface treatment, visual, dimension, and painting aspects. This study aims to identify the types and percentage of rejects, analyze causal factors, and propose quality improvement efforts using the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Data collection was conducted through field observations, documentation studies, and pairwise comparison questionnaires distributed to project personnel. The results showed a total reject rate of 22% from 500 units produced, with dominant defect types being surface treatment (34%) and visual (28%). DPMO calculations decreased from 161,765 to 8,929, with an increase in sigma level from 2.49 to 3.87. The pairwise comparison analysis identified human factors (man) as the most dominant cause. Proposed improvements include the development of SOPs, A3 Report creation, and preventive maintenance scheduling. This research contributes to product quality improvement, production cost efficiency, and strengthening the quality control system at PT Len Industri (Persero).
dc.description.abstractPT Len Industri (Persero) sebagai perusahaan manufaktur elektronika pertahanan menghadapi permasalahan tingginya tingkat reject pada komponen Octopack Casing Radar GCI khususnya pada aspek surface treatment, visual, dimension, dan painting. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi jenis dan persentase reject, menganalisis faktor penyebab, serta mengusulkan upaya perbaikan kualitas menggunakan metode Six Sigma dengan pendekatan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara kepada personel proyek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan total reject sebesar 22% dari 500 unit yang diproduksi, dengan jenis cacat dominan surface treatment (34%) dan visual (28%). Perhitungan DPMO menunjukkan penurunan dari 161.765 menjadi 8.929, dengan peningkatan level sigma dari 2,49 menjadi 3,87. Analisis pairwise comparison mengidentifikasi faktor manusia (man) sebagai penyebab paling dominan. Usulan perbaikan meliputi penyusunan SOP, pembuatan A3 Report, dan penjadwalan maintenance preventif. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas produk, efisiensi biaya produksi, serta penguatan sistem pengendalian kualitas di PT Len Industri (Persero).
