dc.description.abstractPeningkatan limbah plastik polypropylene (PP) dari produksi Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) di PT Argha Karya Prima Industry mencapai 11,41 ton per bulan dan berpotensi mencemari lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengolah limbah polypropylene menggunakan pirolisis dan mengkarakterisasi minyak yang dihasilkannya sebagai bahan bakar alternatif berdasarkan parameter Viskositas, Titik Nyala (flash point), dan Nilai Kalor (heating value). Minyak dari kondensor 1 (C1) disentrifugasi 7.500 rpm selama 10 menit. Hasil penelitian mencatat suhu maksimum pirolisis sebesar 290°C, 260°C, dan 305°C. Viskositas C1 bernilai 1,21 mm²/s, 1,02 mm²/s, dan 0,98 mm²/s,. Pengujian titik nyala menghasilkan nilai -15°C, -12°C, dan -10°C (highly volatile). Nilai kalor minyak mencapai 11.416,2 kal/g, 12.013,3 kal/g, dan 11.534,6 kal/g, seluruhnya memenuhi standar mutu bensin (11.414,45 kal/g). Reaktor PROPY terbukti efektif mengonversi limbah PP menjadi bahan bakar alternatif setara bensin.
dc.description.abstractThe accumulation of polypropylene (PP) waste from Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) production at PT Argha Karya Prima Industry has reached 11.41 tons per month, posing a potential environmental pollution risk. This study aimed to process polypropylene waste via pyrolysis and characterize the resulting oil as an alternative fuel based on viscosity, flash point, and heating value parameters. Oil collected from condenser 1 (C1) was centrifuged at 7,500 rpm for 10 minutes. The study recorded maximum pyrolysis temperatures of 290°C, 260°C, and 305°C. The viscosity values for the C1 oil were 1.21 mm²/s, 1.02 mm²/s, and 0.98 mm²/s. Flash point testing yielded values of -15°C, -12°C, and -10°C, indicating high volatility. The heating values of the oil reached 11,416.2 cal/g, 12,013.3 cal/g, and 11,534.6 cal/g, all of which met the quality standard for gasoline (11,414.45 cal/g). The PROPY reactor proved effective in converting PP waste into a gasoline-equivalent alternative fuel
