dc.description.abstractAir limbah tahu mengandung bahan organik berupa protein, karbohidrat, dan lemak serta bersifat asam yang berbahaya bagi lingkungan jika melebihi baku mutu yang ditetapkan sehingga diperlukan pengolahan sebelum dibuang. Kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) mengandung pektin 13% dan dapat dijadikan biokoagulan dalam menurunkan parameter pencemar pada air limbah. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh efektivitas biokoagulan kulit buah naga dalam menurunkan konsentrasi Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), dan kekeruhan. Metode jar test dilakukan dalam pengujian biokoagulan dengan empat variasi dosis 500 mg/L, 1000 mg/L, 1500 mg/L, dan 2000 mg/L dengan pengulangan sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian didapatkan dosis 500 mg/L menunjukkan hasil paling baik dalam penyisihan parameter pencemar sebesar 49% terhadap parameter BOD dan COD.
dc.description.abstractTofu wastewater contains organic matter in the form of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, and is acidic in nature, if it exceeds established quality standards, it poses a hazard to the environment, making treatment necessary before disposal. Red dragon fruit peel (Hylocereus polyrhizus) contains 13% pectin and can be used as a biocoagulant to reduce pollutant levels in wastewater. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of dragon fruit peel as a biocoagulant in reducing the concentrations of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and turbidity. A jar test method was used to evaluate the biocoagulant, with four dosage variations 500 mg/L, 1000 mg/L, 1500 mg/L, and 2000 mg/L each repeated three times. The results showed that a dosage of 500 mg/L was the best results in the removal of pollutant levels by 49% for both BOD and COD parameters.
