the criminalization of activists following the August 2025 demonstrations in
Indonesia. The project applies the principle of continuity editing to weave
interviews with eleven sources and archival material into a coherent narrative, with
Sergei Eisenstein's montage and the Kuleshov Effect employed selectively as
supporting approaches to build the audience's emotional connection. The project
was carried out with Greenpeace Indonesia throughout 2026, with the author
serving as post-production editor.
The result is a 70-minute film that unites interviews and archival material
into a cohesive narrative through continuity editing, with montage and the Kuleshov
Effect reinforcing emotional connection at select moments. The film is ready for
publication through Greenpeace Indonesia's digital channels in August 2026.
