| dc.description.abstract | Bambu betung (Dendrocalamus asper) merupakan salah satu hasil hutan bukan kayu yang memiliki potensi besar sebagai bahan baku konstruksi karena pertumbuhannya cepat, serta memiliki sifat mekanis yang baik. Perbedaan struktur pada bagian buku (node) dan ruas (internode) serta posisi batang diduga menyebabkan variasi sifat dasar bambu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh posisi batang dan bagian batang terhadap sifat fisis, mekanis, kimia, dan anatomi bambu betung. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dengan dua faktor, yaitu posisi batang serta bagian batang. Parameter yang diamati meliputi sifat fisis, sifat mekanis, sifat kimia, dan anatomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bagian internode memiliki kerapatan, sifat mekanis, holoselulosa, a-selulosa, dan hemiselulosa lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan bagian node. Sebaliknya, node memiliki kadar air, kerapatan linear, lignin, dan zat ekstraktif lebih tinggi dibandingkan bagian internode. Perbedaan sifat tersebut berkaitan dengan variasi komposisi penyusun dinding sel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bambu betung lebih baik digunakan secara utuh tanpa dipisah. | dc.description.abstract | Betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper) is a non-timber forest product with great potential as a construction material due to its rapid growth and good mechanical properties. Differences in the structure of the nodes and internodes, as well as stem position, are believed to cause variations in the basic properties of the bamboo. This study aimed to analyze the effects of stem position and stem section on the physical, mechanical, chemical, and anatomical properties of betung bamboo. The study employed a completely randomized factorial design with two factors: stem position and stem section. The parameters observed included physical properties, mechanical properties, chemical properties, and anatomy. The results showed that the internode section had higher density, mechanical properties, holocellulose, a-cellulose, and hemicellulose content compared to the node section. Conversely, the node section had higher moisture content, linear density, lignin, and extractive matter compared to the internode section. These differences in properties are related to variations in the composition of the cell walls. The results of the study indicate that betung bamboo is best used whole, without being separated. The variations in fundamental properties that influence the strength of bamboo stems work complementarily, where each component and other fundamental properties are interrelated and influence one another. | |
