      Abstract
Sistem pengendalian suhu hotbox pada unit utilitas PT XYZ masih menggunakan metode ON/OFF yang menghasilkan osilasi suhu 70–80°C terhadap set value 75°C, dengan overshoot 6,67% dan waktu dalam pita toleransi ±2% SV hanya 28,21%. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kinerja sistem eksisting, mengidentifikasi model First Order Plus Dead Time (FOPDT), serta membandingkan tiga metode penalaan PID: Ziegler-Nichols, Tyreus-Luyben (TL), dan Modified (MOD). Identifikasi FOPDT menghasilkan K = 2,05°C/%, T = 210 detik, L = 28 detik. Simulasi MATLAB/Simulink (Ku = 6,061; Pu = 107,9 detik) menunjukkan MOD (Kp = 2,74; Ti = 235 detik; Td = 10,7 detik) paling optimal, dengan overshoot 0,13%, rise time 24,3 detik, dan settling time 122,1 detik. Parameter dikonversi untuk implementasi pada Autonics TK4L-B4RN, dengan rekomendasi transisi bertahap dari TL menuju MOD.

The hotbox temperature control system at PT XYZ's utility unit still uses the ON/OFF method, producing temperature oscillations of 70–80°C against a set value of 75°C, with an overshoot of 6.67% and only 28.21% of time within the ±2% SV tolerance band. This study evaluates the existing system's performance, identifies a First Order Plus Dead Time (FOPDT) model, and compares three PID tuning methods: Ziegler-Nichols, Tyreus-Luyben (TL), and Modified (MOD). FOPDT identification yielded K = 2.05°C/%, T = 210 seconds, L = 28 seconds. MATLAB/Simulink simulation (Ku = 6.061; Pu = 107.9 seconds) showed MOD (Kp = 2.74; Ti = 235 seconds; Td = 10.7 seconds) performed optimally, with 0.13% overshoot, 24.3-second rise time, and 122.1-second settling time. Parameters were converted for implementation on the Autonics TK4L-B4RN, with a phased transition recommended from TL to MOD
