Ekosistem mangrove di Desa Berbura dan Desa Riau mengalami dinamika tutupan vegetasi akibat perubahan lingkungan dan pemanfaatan lahan pesisir. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat kerapatan tajuk mangrove berdasarkan pengamatan lapangan dan citra Sentinel-2A, serta menganalisis perubahannya antara tahun 2018 dan 2025. Pengumpulan data lapangan menggunakan metode hemispherical photography memperoleh nilai Leaf Area Index (LAI) dan persentase tutupan tajuk. Analisis citra dilakukan dengan indeks Mangrove Vegetation Index (MVI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), dan Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) yang kemudian NDVI dan EVI direklasifikasi menjadi kelas kerapatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa plot contoh dengan kondisi tajuk tertinggi memiliki nilai LAI 2,32 dan persentase tutupan tajuk 84,61%. Nilai MVI untuk mangrove lokasi penelitian berada pada rentang 4,2-17, sementara nilai di bawah atau di atas rentang tersebut dikategorikan sebagai non-mangrove. Analisis perubahan tahun 2018 dan 2025 menunjukkan penurunan luas pada seluruh kelas kerapatan, yaitu kelas rapat 53,47 ha, kelas sedang 81,32 ha, dan kelas jarang 2,26 ha. Penurunan diduga disebabkan oleh penebangan mangrove yang kurang terkendali dan pembukaan lahan terkait penambangan timah yang mengindikasikan adanya tekanan pada ekosistem mangrove di kawasan tersebut. The mangrove ecosystems in Berbura Village and Riau Village have experienced changes in vegetation cover due to environmental changes and coastal land-use activities. This study aimed to analyze mangrove canopy density using field observations and Sentinel-2A imagery and to assess canopy density changes between 2018 and 2025. Field data were collected using the hemispherical photography method to obtain Leaf Area Index (LAI) values and canopy cover percentages. Image analysis employed the MVI, NDVI, and EVI, with NDVI and EVI subsequently reclassified into canopy density classes. The results showed that the sample plot with the highest canopy condition had an LAI value of 2.32 and a canopy cover of 84.61%. MVI values for mangroves ranged from 4.2 to 17, while values outside this range were classified as non-mangrove. Analysis of canopy density changes from 2018 to 2025 showed decreases across all density classes: 53.47 ha in the dense class, 81.32 ha in the moderate class, and 2.26 ha in the sparse class. This decline is presumed to be associated with uncontrolled mangrove logging and land clearing for tin mining, indicating increasing pressure on the mangrove ecosystem.
