Reliance on inorganic fertilizers in oil palm nurseries has encouraged the use of palm oil mill organic waste as a sustainable nutrient alternative. This study analyzed the effects of organic fertilizer type and dose, rock phosphate dose, and their interactions on oil palm seedling growth at the pre–nursery stage. A three-factor factorial design was applied, comprising organic waste type (fiber, shell, boiler ash, POME), organic fertilizer dose (20–40%), and rock phosphate dose (0–100%), observed for 10 weeks after planting. Organic fertilizer type significantly affected all growth variables, with POME waste consistently producing the best growth performance. Organic fertilizer and rock phosphate doses showed no significant single effect, and most interactions were non-significant. These findings imply that organic fertilizer type, particularly POME at a low dose, is more critical to nursery success than increasing fertilizer dose or applying rock phosphate.
