      Keawetan Kayu Sengon Terimpregnasi Nanokomposit (ZnO/CuO)

      Abstract
      Kayu sengon (Falcataria falcata L.) merupakan salah satu kayu cepat tumbuh yang berpotensi sebagai bahan baku industri karena pertumbuhannya yang cepat, namun keawetan kayunya yang rendah menjadi kendala dalam pemanfaatannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh impregnasi nanopartikel oksida logam, yaitu ZnO dan CuO baik sebagai senyawa tunggal maupun nanokompositnya terhadap peningkatan keawetan sengon dari faktor perusak kayu. Larutan impregnasi terdiri dari perlakuan kontrol, ZnO-Np, CuO-Np, NCP-10, NCP-30, dan NCP-50. Pengujian terdiri dari weight percent gain (WPG), retensi, penetrasi, leaching, dan uji kubur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa impregnasi nanopartikel ZnO, CuO, dan nanokomposit ZnO/CuO berpengaruh nyata meningkatkan nilai WPG hingga 8,74%, retensi mencapai 27,54 kg/m³, penetrasi ion Zn²? dan Cu²? yang optimum, nilai leaching terendah 3,87%, serta persentase kehilangan berat kayu terendah sebesar 5,30%. Secara keseluruhan, perlakuan NCP-50 merupakan perlakuan paling optimum untuk meningkatkan keawetan sengon terhadap faktor perusak kayu.
       
      Sengon (Falcataria falcata L.) is a fast growing wood species with potential as an industrial raw material due to its rapid growth, but their low natural durability become a challenge to its utilization. This study aims to analyze the effect of impregnation with metal oxide nanoparticles specifically ZnO and CuO, both as single compounds and as nanocomposite on improving the durability of sengon against wood destroying factors. The impregnation solutions consisted of untreated, ZnO-Np, CuO-Np, NCP-10, NCP-30, NCP-50. The tests included weight percent gain (WPG), retention, penetration, leaching, and graveyard test. The results showed that impregnation with nanoparticle ZnO, CuO, and nanocomposite ZnO/CuO significantly increased WPG up to 8,74%, achieved a retention value of 27,54 kg/m³, provided optimum penetration of Zn²? and Cu²? ions, reduced the leaching value until 3,87%, and decreased the wood weight loss to 5,30%. In summary, the NCP-50 treatment was the most optimum treatment in improving the durability of sengon against wood destroying factors.
