dc.description.abstractDomba garut memiliki potensi produksi daging tinggi. Perkembangan otot longissimus dorsi (LD) pada fase awal kehidupan berperan penting dalam menentukan potensi pertumbuhan dan kualitas karkas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai otot LD domba garut pada fase neonatus, pra-sapih, dan lepas sapih menggunakan ultrasonografi real-time. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 34 ekor domba garut yang terdiri dari fase neonatus (n=4), pra-sapih (n=5), dan lepas sapih (n=25). Pencitraan otot LD dilakukan antara costae ke-12 dan ke-13 menggunakan ultrasonografi. Variabel yang diamati meliputi bobot badan dan ketebalan otot LD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan bobot badan dan ketebalan otot LD seiring bertambahnya fase pertumbuhan. Analisis regresi menunjukkan hubungan positif antara bobot badan dan ketebalan otot LD dengan nilai R² sebesar 20,07%–88,64% pada ketiga fase pertumbuhan.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ultrasonografi real-time dapat digunakan sebagai metode non-invasif untuk mengevaluasi perkembangan otot LD pada domba garut hidup dan berpotensi digunakan dalam pendugaan pertumbuhan otot.
dc.description.abstractGarut sheep are one of Indonesia’s local breeds with considerable potential for meat production. The development of the longissimus dorsi (LD) muscle during early life plays a crucial role in determining growth performance and carcass quality. This study aimed to assess the LD muscle of garut sheep at neonatal, pre-weaning, and post-weaning stages using real-time ultrasonography. A total of 34 garut sheep were included, consisting of neonatal (n=4), pre-weaning (n=5), and post-weaning (n=25) sheep. Ultrasonographic measurements were performed between the 12th and 13th ribs. The results showed an increasing trend in both body weight and LD muscle thickness across growth stages. Regression analysis revealed a positive relationship between body weight and LD muscle thickness, with R² values ranging from 20.07% to 88.64% across the three growth stages. These findings suggest that real-time ultrasonography can be utilized as a non-invasive method to evaluate LD muscle development in live garut sheep, with potential applications for estimating muscle growth.
