terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Kelapa Sawit pada Media Tanam Sulfat Masam.

Tanah sulfat masam memiliki kendala utama pH rendah dan toksisitas Al
serta Fe yang menghambat pertumbuhan kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan
mengevaluasi pengaruh abu boiler terhadap pertumbuhan bibit dan kemampuannya
dalam meningkatkan pH tanah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok
Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) faktorial dengan dua faktor, yaitu jenis media tanam
(tanah sulfat masam dan tanah kontrol) dan dosis abu boiler (0, 100, 200, dan 300
g per polibag). Parameter pertumbuhan vegetatif diamati selama 10 minggu. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi abu boiler secara nyata meningkatkan
tinggi tanaman. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media campuran
sulfat masam dengan topsoil dan penambahan abu boiler tidak memberikan dampak
negatif terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit. Abu boiler efektif meningkatkan
pH tanah sulfat masam, sehingga menurunkan toksisitas logam. Penelitian ini
menyimpulkan bahwa optimasi dosis abu boiler berperan penting dalam
mendukung pertumbuhan bibit dan memperbaiki kualitas tanah di pembibitan
kelapa sawit. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Acid sulfate soil presents significant constraints for oil palm cultivation,
characterized by low pH and high toxicity of aluminum (Al³?) and iron (Fe²?). This
study aimed to evaluate the effect of boiler ash on the growth of oil palm seedlings
and its capacity to increase soil pH. The research employed a factorial randomized
complete block design (RCBD) with two factors: growing media (acid sulfate soil
and control soil) and boiler ash dosages (0, 100, 200, and 300 g per polybag).
Vegetative growth parameters were observed over ten weeks. The results
demonstrated that the application of boiler ash, significantly increased plant height.
The study found that the use of a mixed growing media of acid sulfate soil with
topsoil, combined with boiler ash application, had no negative impact on seedling
growth. Furthermore, boiler ash proved effective in raising the soil pH, thereby
reducing metal toxicity. This research concludes that optimizing boiler ash dosage
is crucial for supporting seedling development and improving soil quality in oil
palm nurseries. | |
