      Abstract

Ketapang leaves contain phytochemical compounds with antibacterial and antiparasitic properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of ketapang leaf extract and determine the optimal concentration for reducing bacterial and ectoparasitic infections in guppies. The experiment involved three treatments with three replicates: a control, immersion in ketapang leaf extract at a dosage of 0.04 g L?¹, and immersion in ketapang leaf extract at a dosage of 0.06 g L?¹. The results indicated that immersion in ketapang leaf extract had a significant effect (P<0.05) compared to the control. Immersion at a dosage of 0.06 g L?¹ yielded the best results regarding the prevalence and intensity of the ectoparasites Dactylogyrus sp., Trichodina sp., and Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, as well as a total bacterial plate count (TPC) of 5.63×104 CFU mL?¹, a survival rate of 93.33±0.035%, and a specific growth rate of 2.50±0.030%/day.
