Abstract
RADEN AYU NEYRA FLALETA. Penerapan Teknik Narator dalam Membangun Suasana Cerita Film Branded Documentary "Back to Glory" di Kangen Tennis. RADEN AYU NEYRA FLALETA. The Application of Narration Techniques to Build the Story Atmosphere in the Branded Documentary "Back to Glory" at Kangen Tennis. Supervised by GURUH RAMDANI. Kangen Tennis, a rapidly growing tennis startup in Jakarta since 2023, required a branded documentary to convey the personal journeys of its founder, coach, and participants, positioning the narrator as central to maintaining narrative continuity and building the story's atmosphere. This final report aims to explain the application of narration techniques in building the story atmosphere of the film and the obstacles faced during the voice-over production process. The method used was practice-based research through observation, active participation, and literature study, with the writer serving as both narrator and report author. Results show that vocal character was adjusted for each segment through the arrangement of pitch, rhythm, intensity, and pause: the opening combined a cheerful tone with a deep voice to create warmth and credibility, the first segment was dominated by a slower-paced deep voice to build curiosity, the second segment gradually blended both vocal characters to reflect the search for meaning, and the third segment used a cheerful tone with a faster tempo to convey reflection and relief. Obstacles included determining suitable vocal characters, vocal fatigue, and aligning tempo with visual rhythm, addressed through practice with a professional narrator and discussions with the production team. This vocal performance approach may serve as a reference for other branded documentary productions relying on narration to reinforce story atmosphere.
