dc.description.abstractJulang emas (Rhyticeros undulatus) merupakan burung yang berstatus rentan sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya pemeliharaan di konservasi ex situ. Kondisi kesehatan satwa perlu diperhatikan, termasuk keberadaan bakteri Enterobacterales yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan saluran pencernaan dan membawa gen resistansi antibiotik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi gen resistansi antibiotik pada bakteri Enterobacterales asal feses julang emas yang dipelihara di kawasan ex situ. Sebanyak 15 isolat Enterobacterales dari tujuh burung julang emas diuji dalam penelitian ini. Deteksi gen resistansi dilakukan dengan metode Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), dan menargetkan tiga gen (tetA, blaTEM, dan ampC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gen resistansi ampC terdeteksi pada tujuh isolat (46,7%), blaTEM pada satu isolat (6,7%), sedangkan tetA tidak terdeteksi. Terdeteksinya gen resistansi ampC dan blaTEM menunjukkan resistansi terhadap antibiotik golongan ß-laktam pada isolat bakteri Enterobacterales yang diuji.
dc.description.abstractThe wreathed hornbill (Rhyticeros undulatus) is listed as a vulnerable bird species, underscoring the importance of ex situ conservation efforts. The health status of these birds requires close attention, including the presence of Enterobacterales, which may cause gastrointestinal disorders and harbor antibiotic resistance genes. This study aimed to detect antibiotic resistance genes in Enterobacterales isolated from the feces of wreathed hornbills in ex situ conservation. Fifteen Enterobacterales isolates from seven wreathed hornbills were examined. Detection of resistance genes was performed using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), targeting three genes: tetA, blaTEM, and ampC. The results showed that the ampC resistance gene was detected in seven isolates (46.7%), blaTEM in one isolate (6.7%), while tetA was not detected in any isolate. The detection of ampC and blaTEM indicates the presence of ß-lactam resistance among the tested Enterobacterales isolates.
