| dc.description.abstract | Penggunaan chainsaw chaps berfungsi untuk melindungi operator dari cedera mekanis, tetapi berpotensi meningkatkan paparan radiasi panas dan beban kerja fisiologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik radiasi panas mesin chainsaw serta pengaruh penggunaan chainsaw chaps dan postur kerja terhadap perubahan suhu paha, detak jantung, dan hubungan kedua parameter tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan empat kombinasi perlakuan dan tiga kali pengulangan pada satu subjek. Kondisi lingkungan dianalisis menggunakan uji Friedman, sedangkan respons fisiologis dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu mesin meningkat dari 31°C menjadi 249°C selama 10 menit pengoperasian full throttle, sedangkan kondisi lingkungan relatif seragam. Penggunaan chainsaw chaps meningkatkan suhu paha dan detak jantung secara signifikan, sedangkan postur kerja hanya berpengaruh terhadap perubahan detak jantung. Perubahan suhu paha berkorelasi positif dengan perubahan detak jantung. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan chainsaw chaps perlu diimbangi dengan pengelolaan paparan panas guna meminimalkan peningkatan beban kerja fisiologis sekaligus mendukung keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja pada kegiatan pemanenan kayu. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Chainsaw chaps protect operators from mechanical injury but potentially increase exposure to radiant heat and physiological workload. This study aimed to analyze the radiant heat characteristics of a chainsaw and the effects of wearing chainsaw chaps and adopting specific work postures on thigh temperature, heart rate, and the relationship between these two parameters. An experimental method was employed, involving four treatment combinations and three repetitions on a single subject. Environmental conditions were analyzed using the Friedman test, while physiological responses were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and Spearman correlation. The results showed that the chainsaw engine temperature rose from 31°C to 249°C during 10 minutes of full-throttle operation, whereas environmental conditions remained relatively uniform. Wearing chainsaw chaps significantly increased thigh temperature and heart rate, whereas work posture influenced only heart rate. Changes in thigh temperature were positively correlated with changes in heart rate. These findings indicate that the use of chainsaw chaps should be balanced with heat exposure management to minimize the increase in physiological workload while supporting occupational health and safety in timber harvesting operations. | |
