Castanopsis tungurrut (Blume) A.DC. merupakan jenis pohon berstatus Terancam Punah yang memerlukan informasi ekologis untuk mendukung konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis komposisi jenis, struktur tegakan, keanekaragaman jenis, pola penyebaran, dan preferensi habitat C. tungurrut pada tiga kelas ketinggian di Cikaniki Research Station, Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun Salak. Penelitian dilakukan melalui analisis vegetasi pada tujuh plot berukuran 50 × 50 m, pengukuran faktor lingkungan, analisis tanah, dan Canonnical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). Hasil penelitian mencatat 88 jenis dari 42 famili. C. tungurrut hanya ditemukan pada tingkat tiang dan pohon dengan dominansi tertinggi pada ketinggian 1.100–1.200 mdpl. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman berkisar 2,48–3,38, sedangkan pola penyebaran cenderung merata pada ketinggian 1.000–1.100 mdpl dan 1.200–1.300 mdpl, serta mengelompok pada 1.100–1.200 mdpl. Analisis CCA menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan C. tungurrut berkorelasi positif dengan C-organik tanah dan tutupan tajuk, serta negatif dengan intensitas cahaya dan ketinggian. Castanopsis tungurrut (Blume) A.DC. is a tree species classified as Endangered that requires ecological information to support its conservation. This study aims to analyze the species composition, stand structure, species diversity, distribution patterns, and habitat preferences of C. tungurrut across three elevation classes at the Cikaniki Research Station, Gunung Halimun Salak National Park. The study was conducted through vegetation analysis of seven 50 × 50 m plots, measurements of environmental factors, soil analysis, and Canonnical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). The results recorded 88 species from 42 families. C. tungurrut was found only at the sapling and tree levels, with the highest dominance at elevations of 1,100–1,200 m above sea level. Diversity index values ranged from 2.48 to 3.38, while the distribution pattern tended to be even at elevations of 1,000–1,100 m above sea level and 1,200–1,300 m above sea level, and clustered at 1,100–1,200 m above sea level. CCA analysis indicates that the abundance of C. tungurrut is positively correlated with soil organic carbon and canopy cover, and negatively correlated with light intensity and elevation.
