Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya menjaga kualitas karkas ayam ras mutu A sesuai SNI 3924:2023 agar aman dan layak dikonsumsi. PT XYZ mengalami kendala pada proses pencabutan bulu menggunakan mesin plucker sehingga masih ditemukan sisa bulu pada karkas yang termasuk kategori defect. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas mesin plucker menggunakan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Metode OEE digunakan untuk mengukur efektivitas mesin berdasarkan aspek availability, performance efficiency, dan quality rate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas mesin masih belum optimal. Berdasarkan analisis delapan pilar Total Productive Maintenance, diketahui bahwa kegiatan perawatan hanya dilakukan setelah proses produksi selesai dan tidak terdapat pemeriksaan selama proses produksi berlangsung kecuali saat terjadi trouble mesin. Oleh karena itu, dibuat One Point Lesson (OPL) berupa instruksi kerja pemeriksaan re-start produksi setelah waktu istirahat untuk memastikan kondisi karet plucker tetap optimal sehingga proses pencabutan bulu lebih efektif dan defect sisa bulu pada karkas dapat diminimalkan. This research is motivated by the importance of maintaining the quality of Grade A broiler chicken carcasses in accordance with SNI 3924:2023 to ensure they are safe and suitable for consumption. PT XYZ experienced problems in the feather removal process using a plucker machine, resulting in feather residues on carcasses categorized as defects. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the plucker machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. The OEE method measures machine effectiveness based on availability, performance efficiency, and quality rate. The results showed that the machine effectiveness was still not optimal. Based on the analysis of the eight pillars of Total Productive Maintenance, maintenance activities were only carried out after production was completed, and no inspections were conducted during the production process unless machine trouble occurred. Therefore, a One Point Lesson (OPL) in the form of a re-start production inspection work instruction was developed to ensure the plucker rubber remained in optimal condition, so the feather removal process became more effective and feather defect residues on carcasses could be minimized.
