Home industry batik production is a business that generates liquid waste containing organic matter and suspended solids, which have the potential to pollute the environment. One treatment alternative that can be applied is the combination of filtration and phytoremediation using apu wood (Pistia stratiotes) and water bamboo (Equisetum hyemale L.). The study aimed to evaluate the performance of the combined filtration and phytoremediation system in reducing concentrations of COD, TSS, and color. The research method used was a laboratory-scale experiment. Plant acclimatization was conducted prior to the treatment process to determine the water hyacinth’s tolerance to batik wastewater. The phytoremediation retention time was set at 3 days. The results showed that the combination of filtration and phytoremediation was effective in reducing COD and TSS concentrations in batik wastewater. The system’s performance indicated that the filtration process and the control reactor were more stable in reducing TSS. The use of water bamboo plants was effective in reducing COD levels; however, color parameters did not decrease because Remasol dyes are complex and difficult to degrade biologically or filter out physically.
