| dc.description.abstract | Ichthyophthirius multifiliis merupakan protozoa penyebab kerugian ekonomi yang signifikan pada pemeliharaan dan budidaya ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas infusa daun sirih (Piper betle L.) terhadap stadium tomont dan theront I. multifiliis serta menguji toksisitasnya pada ikan zebra (Danio rerio). Uji toksisitas menggunakan rentang konsentrasi 25–400 mg/L, sementara uji efektivitas menggunakan rentang konsentrasi 3,75–60 mg/L. Hasil uji toksisitas menunjukkan infusa daun sirih praktis tidak toksik dengan LC50 96 jam sebesar 133,20 ± 19,98 mg/L. Infusa daun sirih tidak efektif membunuh stadium tomont (mortalitas 0%), tetapi efektif terhadap stadium theront dengan tingkat kematian =75% pada semua konsentrasi uji dalam waktu 120 menit. Konsentrasi 3,75 mg/L diidentifikasi sebagai konsentrasi optimal dengan membunuh 83% theront dan aman bagi inang. Dapat disimpulkan, infusa daun sirih berpotensi sebagai antiparasit alami yang efektif pada fase infektif theront I. multifilis. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Ichthyophthirius multifiliis is a protozoan that causes significant economic losses in fish farming and aquaculture. To address this issue, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of betel leaf infusion (Piper betle L.) against the tomont and theront stages of I. multifiliis and to test its toxicity in zebrafish (Danio rerio). Specifically, the toxicity test used a concentration range of 25–400 mg/L, while the effectiveness test used a concentration range of 3.75–60 mg/L. The results of the toxicity test showed that betel leaf infusion was practically non-toxic, with a 96hour LC50 of 133.20 ± 19.98 mg/L. Regarding antiparasitic activity, betel leaf infusion was ineffective against the tomont stage (0% mortality), but effective against the theront stage, achieving =75% mortality at all test concentrations within 120 minutes. Furthermore, a concentration of 3.75 mg/L was identified as optimal, killing 83% of theronts while remaining safe for the host. In conclusion, betel leaf infusion has potential as an effective natural antiparasitic during the infective theront phase of I. multifiliis. | |
