Abstract

Gulma merupakan kendala utama dalam budidaya kopi arabika yang dapat menurunkan produksi hingga 35%. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efikasi kombinasi herbisida glifosat, metil metsulfuron, dan fluroxypyr dalam menekan pertumbuhan gulma pada tanaman kopi arabika menghasilkan di perkebunan Java Coffee Estate PTPN I Regional V, Bondowoso, pada Desember 2025 hingga Februari 2026. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan glifosat 1.000 ml ha-1 + metil metsulfuron 20 g ha-1 merupakan perlakuan paling efektif dengan bobot basah gulma terendah sebesar 276,4 g m-² dan persentase kematian gulma tertinggi sebesar 79,00% pada 6 minggu setelah aplikasi, tanpa menimbulkan gejala fitotoksisitas pada tanaman kopi. Kombinasi herbisida tersebut berpotensi direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif pengendalian gulma yang efektif dan aman pada perkebunan kopi arabika.

Weeds are a major constraint in arabica coffee cultivation that can reduce production by up to 35%. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of various combinations of glyphosate, metsulfuron-methyl, and fluroxypyr herbicides in suppressing weed growth in productive arabica coffee plants. The experiment was conducted at Java Coffee Estate PTPN I Regional V, Bondowoso, from December 2025 to February 2026 using a randomized complete block design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The results indicated that herbicide application caused changes in weed composition and dominance, with a community coefficient value of 65.60% indicating a shift in weed community structure. The combination of glyphosate 1,000 ml ha-1 and metsulfuron-methyl 20 g ha-1 was the most effective treatment, producing the lowest weed fresh weight of 276,4 g m-² and the highest weed mortality of 79,00% at 6 weeks after application, without causing phytotoxicity symptoms on coffee plants. This herbicide combination has the potential to be recommended as an effective and safe alternative for weed control in Arabica coffee plantations.
