Oryctes rhinoceros is one of the major pests affecting immature oil palm plantations. This study aimed to compare the population and infestation level of O. rhinoceros under the Close-Ended Conservation Trench (CECT) and Chipping Serak Timbun (CST) residue management systems. The study was conducted at PT Binasawit Abadipratama–Terawan Estate using a comparative observational method. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, an Independent Sample t-test, and Pearson correlation analysis. The results showed that the CECT system had a mean adult beetle population of 3.00 individuals and a mean of 3.44 infested palms, whereas the CST system had a mean adult beetle population of 7.50 individuals and a mean of 14.50 infested palms. The Independent Sample t-test indicated a significant difference between the two systems (p < 0.001). The CECT system was more effective in suppressing the population and infestation level of O. rhinoceros than the CST system.
