EFEKTIVITAS KOMBINASI INFUSA RIMPANG KUNYIT (Curcuma longa) DENGAN HERBA PEGAGAN (Centella asiatica) SEBAGAI ANALGESIK DAN ANTIINFLAMASI

NSAID merupakan salah satu obat yang sering digunakan dalam mengobati
rasa nyeri. Meskipun memiliki berbagai manfaat, penggunaan jangka panjang dapat
menimbulkan efek samping. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan alternatif terapi yang lebih
aman dengan pemanfaatan bahan herbal. Rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa) dan
herba pegagan (Centella asiatica) diketahui memiliki potensi sebagai agen
analgesik dan antiinflamasi karena sejumlah kandungan aktif yang berperan dalam
menghambat proses peradangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas
kombinasi kedua tanaman tersebut dalam bentuk infusa pada 5 kelompok mencit
(Mus musculus) komposisi 4 ekor/kelompok dengan konsentrasi berbeda (0%, 1%,
5%, 10%, 15%). Pemberian dilakukan melalui air minum menggunakan metode
pre-treatment selama 14 hari. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pengujian efek analgesik
menggunakan metode hot water immersion test pada jam ke 0,4,8 dan 12 serta efek
antiinflamasi melalui induksi edema karagenan 1% pada jam ke-0, 3 6 dan 9. Nilai
AUC dan daya inhibisi inflamasi dihitung serta aspek panca radang dinilai. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa infusa memberikan efek analgesik dengan onset
beragam. Pada uji antiinflamasi, infus konsentrasi 10% menjadi konsentrasi terbaik
dengan nilai AUC terendah dan daya inhibisi inflamasi tertinggi. NSAIDs are among the most frequently used medications for pain
management. Despite their therapeutic benefits, long-term use of NSAIDs can lead
to adverse side effects. Consequently, there is a need for safer alternative therapies,
such as the utilization of herbal ingredients. Turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa)
and gotu kola herb (Centella asiatica) are known to possess potential as analgesic
and anti-inflammatory agents due to their active compounds that play a role in
inhibiting the inflammatory process. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness
of the combination of these two plants in the form of an infusion across 5 groups of
mice (Mus musculus), with 4 mice per group, at varying concentrations (0%, 1%,
5%, 10%, and 15%). The administration was carried out via drinking water using a
14-day pre-treatment method. Subsequently, the analgesic effect was evaluated
using the hot water immersion test at hours 0, 4, 8, and 12, while the anti
inflammatory effect was assessed through 1% carrageenan-induced edema at hours
0, 3, 6, and 9. The Area Under the Curve (AUC) value and the percentage of
inflammation inhibition were calculated, and the five cardinal signs of
inflammation (panca radang) were assessed. The results indicated that the infusion
provided analgesic effects with varying onset times. In the anti-inflammatory test,
the 10% infusion concentration proved to be the most effective concentration,
yielding the lowest AUC value and the highest inflammation inhibition capacity.
