ALFAN ADRIAN.

Weeds can reduce tea shoot production by more than 40%, making chemical weed control necessary. This study aimed to identify weed dominance and evaluate the efficacy of single and combined herbicides at PT Kabepe Chakra, Bandung Regency. The dominant weed species before herbicide application was Ageratum conyzoides (SDR 37,00%), followed by Crassocephalum crepidioides (12,46%) and Borreria latifolia (11,46%). Herbicide application resulted in a shift in weed composition, with a community coefficient value of 71,87%, indicating a heterogeneous weed community. This shift was characterized by an increase in the dominance of Setaria palmifolia from 7,62% to 20,48%, likely due to herbicide selectivity. The treatment of glyphosate IPA 2 L ha-1 + metsulfuron-methyl 25 g ha-1 was the most effective in suppressing weeds, resulting in the lowest weed fresh weight of 27.00 g m-² and the lowest weed cover percentage of 13.00% at 3 WAA and 40.00% at 6 WAA. None of the herbicide treatments caused phytotoxicity to tea plants. The best treatment required a cost of only IDR 240.000 ha-1, indicating both effective weed control and economic efficiency.
