| dc.description.abstract | Jakarta is one of the major cities with the highest levels of air pollution in Indonesia. One of the pollutants used as an indicator of air pollution in Jakarta is PM2.5. Variations in PM2.5 concentrations are generally influenced by meteorological conditions. This study examines the relationship between PM2.5 concentrations and atmospheric stability using the Bulk Richardson Number (Rib), with Bundaran HI, DKI Jakarta, in 2023 as the case study. Vertical atmospheric profiles were obtained from BMKG radiosonde launches at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 06.30 and 18.30 WIB, while PM2.5 data were obtained from DLH DKI air quality monitoring station. Rib values were calculated for five altitude layers, namely 10–50 m, 50–100 m, 100–300 m, 300–600 m, and 600–1000 m, with Spearman correlation used as the statistical analysis method. The results showed that during wet-season mornings, all layers exhibited a significant positive correlation between Rib and PM2.5, with the strongest correlation (0.55) occurring in the 100–300 m layer. Afternoon observations in both seasons generally showed weak and statistically insignificant correlations. PM2.5 concentrations exceeding the 24-hour ambient air quality standard (BMUA) occurred simultaneously with weaker zonal winds than those observed when concentrations were below the standard. Increased PM2.5 concentrations coincided with unstable conditions in the surface layer and persistent stable conditions at altitudes of 100–300 m. | |
