This project focuses on the design of the APIKES Iris digital handbook as an information medium, driven by issues regarding institutional information access. Currently, information about APIKES Iris remains scattered across various platforms, requiring users to switch between channels to obtain the necessary information. Furthermore, some information is not updated regularly, which potentially hinders users from obtaining accurate and up-to-date information. These conditions highlight the urgent need for an information medium capable of presenting information in a more concise, integrated, structured, fast, practical,
and easily accessible manner. Based on these problems, this project aims to design a digital handbook as an information medium that centralizes various essential information about APIKES Iris into a single access point. The developed media is expected to facilitate audiences in obtaining information, particularly through mobile devices. In addition to meeting users' information needs, the digital handbook is also expected to support the institution in delivering information more efficiently. The media was developed using the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach combined with content curation techniques. The UCD approach was applied to ensure that the developed media meets both user and institutional needs, while content curation techniques were employed to collect, simplify, and organize information so that it is easier for the audience to understand. The development process was supported by data collection through observations, in-depth
interviews, media testing, and documentation. The result of this project is a digital handbook information medium containing various information regarding APIKES Iris, such as institutional profiles, academics, new student admissions (PMB), information system services, and other supporting information integrated into a single medium. This project also produced technical guidelines that the institution can use to manage and update information independently. Evaluation results with users and the organization indicate that the digital handbook effectively facilitates information access through a more concise, structured, easy-to-understand, fast, and practical presentation accessible across various devices, especially mobile devices. These findings
demonstrate that the implementation of User-Centered Design (UCD) supported by content curation techniques successfully delivers an information medium that meets user needs while supporting the institution's information dissemination goals.
