dc.description.abstractData kualitas semen segar dan produktivitas semen beku sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO) masih terbatas di Indonesia, informasi ini diperlukan untuk keberhasilan program inseminasi buatan sebagai upaya meningkatkan mutu genetik dan produktivitas ternak. Tujuan penelitian mendapatkan informasi pengaruh musim kemarau dan penghujan pada kualitas semen segar dan terhadap produktivitas semen beku sapi PO. Penelitian menggunakan data sekunder tahun 2024 tehadap parameter kualitas semen, volume, warna, pH, gerak massa, konsentrasi, motilitas spermatozoa, dan jumlah semen beku (straw). Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas semen segar pada musim kemarau memiliki volume semen 7,00–8,88 mL, pH 6,64–6,65, konsentrasi spermatozoa 1.247,17–1.249,17 × 106 sel/mL, motilitas 63,33–72,50%, dan produktivitas 285,33–430,17 straw. Pada musim penghujan, volume semen 6,04–8,79 mL, pH 6,64–6,65, konsentrasi spermatozoa 1.152,00–1.251,33 × 106 sel/mL, motilitas 72,50%, dan produktivitas 252,50–429,50 straw. Kuliatas semen tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) pada kedua musim dan terhadap produktivitas semen beku sapi PO.
dc.description.abstractData on the fresh semen quality and frozen semen productivity of Ongole Grade (PO) bulls in Indonesia remain limited. Such information is essential for improving the success of artificial insemination programs aimed at enhancing the genetic quality and productivity of cattle. This research aimed was to obtain information on the influence of the dry and rainy seasons on the quality of fresh semen and the productivity of frozen semen from PO cattle. Secondary data from 2024 on semen quality parameters, volume, color, pH, mass movement, concentration, spermatozoa motility, and the amount of frozen semen (straw) was used and analyzed using an independent-samples t-test. The results showed that during the dry season, semen volume ranged from 7.00 to 8.88 mL, pH from 6.64 to 6.65, sperm concentration from 1,247.17 to 1,249.17 × 106 cells/mL, sperm motility from 63.33% to 72.50%, and frozen semen productivity from 285.33 to 430.17 straws. During the rainy season, semen volume ranged from 6.04 to 8.79 mL, pH from 6.64 to 6.65, sperm concentration from 1,152.00 to 1,251.33 × 106 cells/mL, sperm motility was 72.50%, and frozen semen productivity ranged from 252.50 to 429.50 straws. Semen quality was not significantly affected (P > 0.05) to both seasons, and to frozen semen productivity of Ongole Grade (PO) bulls either.
