      Formulasi Pupuk Berbasis Sludge Industri Bumbu dan Penyedap Makanan dengan Agen Khelat Terhadap Pertumbuhan Kangkung (Ipomoea reptans).

      Abstract
      Sludge instalasi pengolahan air limbah (IPAL) industri bumbu dan penyedap makanan berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pupuk organik karena mengandung bahan organik dan unsur hara yang relatif tinggi. Penambahan agen khelat pada formulasi pupuk berbasis sludge diduga memengaruhi dinamika hara dan respons tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penambahan agen khelat EDTA dan asam sitrat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kangkung (Ipomoea reptans) serta sifat kimia dan biologi tanah, serta membandingkan efektivitas kedua agen khelat pada sistem pupuk berbasis sludge. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Acak Lengkap (RKAL) satu faktor dengan 10 taraf perlakuan agen khelat pada media berbasis sludge, arang sekam, dan kompos pada tanah Latosol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang dan populasi mikrob tanah, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap sebagian besar parameter pertumbuhan, hasil panen, serta sifat kimia dan biologi tanah lainnya. Tanaman kangkung tumbuh normal hingga panen pada seluruh perlakuan, sedangkan tanah pascapanen tetap memiliki kandungan C-organik tinggi, N-total sedang, serta P-total dan K-total tinggi hingga sangat tinggi. Secara umum, EDTA dan asam sitrat memberikan pengaruh terbatas terhadap sistem tanah–tanaman serta tidak menunjukkan perbedaan efektivitas yang nyata dalam memengaruhi pertumbuhan, hasil kangkung, maupun sifat tanah, sehingga keduanya berpotensi digunakan dalam formulasi pupuk berbasis sludge.
       
      Wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) sludge from the seasoning and flavoring industry can be utilized as organic fertilizer because of its high organic matter and nutrient contents. The addition of chelating agents to sludge-based fertilizer formulations may influence nutrient dynamics and plant responses. This study evaluated the effects of EDTA and citric acid on the growth and yield of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans), soil chemical and biological properties, and compared the effectiveness of both chelating agents in a sludge-based fertilizer system. The experiment employed a single-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with ten chelating-agent treatments applied to a sludge-based fertilizer formulated with rice husk biochar and compost in Latosol soil. Treatments significantly affected stem diameter and total microbial population but had no significant effect on most growth, yield, or other soil chemical and biological parameters. Water spinach grew normally until harvest across all treatments, while post-harvest soil maintained high organic-C, moderate total N, and high to very high total P and K contents. Overall, EDTA and citric acid had limited effects on the soil–plant system and showed no significant difference in effectiveness on plant growth, yield, or soil properties, indicating that both chelating agents have comparable potential for use in sludge-based fertilizer formulations.
