dc.description.abstractPulau Lusi (Sidoarjo), delta muda hasil sedimentasi Lumpur Lapindo, mengalami kolonisasi mangrove cepat yang berfungsi sebagai penyerap karbon biru potensial. Kajian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi dinamika spasio-temporal biomassa dan struktur kanopi mangrove serta respons ekofisiologinya terhadap variabilitas hidroklimat (1995–2025). Menggunakan citra ALOS PALSAR-2 dan Sentinel-2A, analisis diintegrasikan melalui metode Grey Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM), Random Forest, tren Mann–Kendall, korelasi lag, Kernel Density Estimation (KDE), dan K-Means Clustering. Hasil menunjukkan polarisasi kanal HV jauh lebih sensitif dan konsisten dalam memantau perkembangan kanopi dibandingkan kanal HH. Hamburan balik kanal HV menunjukkan tren meningkat yang signifikan (?? = 0,314; ?? < 0,05; Sen’s slope = +0,0447dB/musim), sementara kanal HH tidak menunjukkan tren nyata ( ?? = -0,124 ; ?? > 0,05 ; Sen’s slope = -0,0132dB/musim). Analisis korelasi lag mendeteksi pengaruh muson yang kuat; curah hujan dan kelembapan relatif berkorelasi positif pada lag pendek (1–3 bulan), sedangkan suhu, vapor pressure deficit (VPD), Evapotranspirasi referensi (ET0), dan kecepatan angin berkorelasi negatif, sebelum polanya berbalik pada lag menengah-panjang. Secara spasio-temporal, ekosistem mengalami ekspansi horizontal pesat selama fase basah La Niña (2021–2023) yang dipicu oleh lonjakan suplai sedimen, lalu melambat saat fase El Niño seiring transisi menuju pertumbuhan struktural vertikal dan akumulasi biomassa. Temuan ini menegaskan keandalan polarisasi kanal HV SAR L-band sebagai indikator yang memadai untuk pemantauan biomassa dan dinamika ekosistem pesisir yang dinamis.
dc.description.abstractLusi Island (Sidoarjo), a young delta formed by Lapindo mudflow sedimentation, is undergoing rapid mangrove colonization, serving as a vital blue carbon sink. This study evaluates the spatio-temporal dynamics of mangrove biomass and canopy structure alongside their ecophysiological responses to hydroclimatic variability (1995–2025). Utilizing ALOS PALSAR-2 and Sentinel2A datasets, the analytical framework integrates Grey Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM), Random Forest, Mann–Kendall trend testing, lag correlation, Kernel Density Estimation (KDE), and K-Means Clustering. The results demonstrate that HV cross-polarization is significantly more sensitive and consistent in tracking canopy development than canal HH co-polarization. Canal HV backscatter exhibited a significant upward trend ( ?? = 0.314 , ?? < 0.05 , Sen’s slope =+0.0447dB/season), whereas HH showed no significant trend (?? = -0.124, ?? > 0.05 , Sen’s slope = -0.0132 dB/season). Lag correlation analysis reveals a pronounced monsoonal signature: precipitation and relative humidity correlate positively at short lags (1–3 months), whereas temperature, vapor pressure deficit (VPD), reference evapotranspiration (????0 ), and wind speed correlate negatively, with these relationships reversing at medium-to-long lags. Spatio-temporally, the ecosystem experienced rapid horizontal expansion during the wet La Niña phase (2021–2023) triggered by a massive sediment pulse, which subsequently decelerated during El Niño as the trajectory shifted toward vertical structural growth and biomass accumulation. These insights confirm that L-band HV SAR polarization is a robust indicator for monitoring biomass and the shifting dynamics of changing coastal ecosystems.
