      Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the occurrence of gastrointestinal parasites level in sheep in Pangalengan District and to assess the efficacy of albendazole using the Fecal Egg Count Reduction Test (FECRT). A total of 100 sheep fecal samples were collected, and 26 samples were examined before and 30 days after albendazole treatment using the McMaster technique to determine eggs per gram (EPG) and oocysts per gram (OPG) of feces. The results showed a pre-treatment prevalence of 88.5% for Strongyles spp. infection and 96.2% for coccidian infection. Following treatment, the mean fecal egg count reduction (FECR) for Strongyles spp. was 80.13% ± 44.11, while the mean reduction in coccidian oocyst counts was only 48.23% ± 37.98. These findings indicate that albendazole showed suboptimal efficacy against gastrointestinal nematodes and limited efficacy against coccidian infections.
