Pyothorax is a common respiratory disease in cats and is classified as a medical emergency. This study aims to evaluate the management of pyothorax in a kitten at My Vets Animal Clinic. Data collection was conducted over 14 days, from September 11–25, 2025. The method used in this study was a case study involving a single mixed-breed kitten. The patient was referred from another veterinary clinic with the main complaints of dyspnea, lethargy, and decreased appetite. Supporting examinations performed included x-ray, ultrasonography (USG), thoracocentesis, cytology examination, and complete blood count. The diagnostic examination results revealed the presence of fluid in the pleural cavity consistent with pyothorax. The condition of the kitten, Neko, remained relatively stable. However, on the second day of treatment, there was an increased accumulation of pleural fluid (pyothorax). This condition was managed with repeat thoracocentesis, thoracic flushing, and additional medication. After two weeks of treatment, Neko’s condition showed clinical improvement, which was supported by follow-up physical examination, x-ray, and complete blood count.
