      Abstract

The sheep farming subsector plays an important role in agricultural development in Indonesia; however, its productivity can be affected by trypanosomiasis caused by Trypanosoma evansi. This study aimed to analyze the presence of antibodies against Trypanosoma evansi in sheep at Her’s Farm using the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method. Blood samples were collected from eight sheep (n = 8) and analyzed qualitatively. The results were presented descriptively and supported by relevant literature. ELISA can be used as a preliminary screening method to detect possible exposure to Trypanosoma evansi in sheep. The findings showed that all sheep blood samples tested negative for antibodies against Trypanosoma evansi. These results indicate that specific antibodies were not detected, which may be due to the absence of exposure or a low level of exposure to the infectious agent.
