      Analisis Laju Perkembangan Daun Bibit Pepaya Berdasarkan Thermal Heat Unit pada Tingkat Naungan Berbeda

      Abstract
      Pepaya merupakan tanaman hortikultura tropis yang pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya dipengaruhi oleh kondisi mikroklimat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara akumulasi Thermal Heat Unit (THU) dan perkembangan daun bibit pepaya pada berbagai kondisi naungan selama fase pembibitan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PT Riset Suryo Indonesia, Bogor, Indonesia menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga perlakuan mikroklimat, yaitu naungan 0%, paranet 25% dengan penutup plastik pada bagian atap, dan paranet 75% yang dikombinasikan dengan rumah plastik tertutup pada bagian atap dan dinding untuk menghasilkan kondisi mikroklimat yang lebih hangat. Perhitungan THU dilakukan menggunakan suhu dasar pepaya sebesar 15°C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu udara rata-rata pada perlakuan naungan 0%, paranet 25%, dan paranet 75% dengan rumah plastik berturut-turut sebesar 25,3°C, 24,3°C, dan 28,6°C. Akumulasi THU pada akhir pengamatan mencapai 644,6°C hari, 608,9°C hari, dan 847,4°C hari. Akumulasi THU menunjukkan hubungan positif dengan perkembangan daun pada seluruh perlakuan. Berdasarkan konsep THU, pembentukan setiap satu helai daun sejati menunjukkan kebutuhan termal yang relatif konstan, yaitu sekitar 36,2-36,6°C hari daun?¹. Modifikasi mikroklimat memengaruhi akumulasi termal, perkembangan daun, dan pertumbuhan bibit pepaya.
       
      Papaya is a tropical horticultural crop whose growth and development are influenced by microclimatic conditions. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between Thermal Heat Unit (THU) accumulation and leaf development of papaya seedlings under different shading conditions during the nursery stage. The experiment was conducted at PT Riset Suryo Indonesia, Bogor, Indonesia using a Randomized Complete Block Design with three microclimate treatments: 0% shading, 25% shade net with a plastic roof cover, and 75% shade net combined with a plastic house enclosed with a plastic roof and walls to create a warmer microclimate . THU was calculated using a base temperature of 15°C. The results showed that the average air temperatures under 0% shading, 25% shade net, and 75% shade net combined with a plastic house were 25.3°C, 24.3°C, and 28.6°C, respectively. The accumulated THU at the end of the observation period reached 644,6, 608,9, and 847,4°C days, respectively. THU accumulation showed a positive relationship with leaf development under all treatments. Based on the THU concept, the formation of each successive true leaf required a relatively constant thermal accumulation of approximately 36,2-36,6°C day leaf?¹. Microclimate modification through shading treatments affected thermal accumulation, leaf development, and the growth of papaya seedlings.
