Pengaruh Diet Suplementasi Daun Katuk (Sauropus androgynus) terhadap Profil Titer Antibodi Newcastle Disease pada Ayam Broiler

Abstract

Newcastle disease (ND) merupakan penyakit viral pada unggas yang pengendaliannya salah satunya melalui vaksinasi. Daun katuk (Sauropus androgynus) mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang berpotensi untuk mendukung respons imun ayam broiler. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur titer antibodi ND pada ayam broiler yang diberi pakan dengan imbuhan daun katuk. Pengukuran titer antibodi dilakukan dengan uji Haemagglutination Inhibition pada lima kelompok perlakuan imbuhan tepung daun katuk (TDK) dan tepung katuk depolarisasi (TKD). Hasil uji One Way ANOVA menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata antarperlakuan (p > 0,05). Seluruh kelompok memiliki rataan titer antibodi di bawah ambang protektif (0,62–1,64 log2 HI; protektif = 4 log2 HI). Rendahnya titer diduga dipengaruhi kondisi kandang closed-house, interferensi antibodi maternal, dan tidak adanya vaksinasi booster. Kelompok yang diberi imbuhan TKD cenderung menunjukkan respons imun humoral yang lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok kontrol dan TDK. Dengan demikian, daun katuk depolarisasi berpotensi digunakan sebagai feed additive pendukung respons imun pada ayam broiler, meskipun efektivitasnya masih perlu dikaji lebih lanjut dengan program vaksinasi yang lebih optimal.

Newcastle disease (ND) is a viral disease in poultry that can be controlled through vaccination. Katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus) contain bioactive compounds with potential immunomodulatory effects that may support the immune response of broiler chickens. This study aimed to evaluate ND antibody titers in broiler chickens fed diets supplemented with katuk leaves in different formulations. Antibody titers were measured using the Haemagglutination Inhibition (HI) test in five treatment . The results showed no significant differences among treatments (p > 0.05). All groups had mean antibody titers below the protective threshold. The low antibody titers were likely influenced by housing conditions, maternal antibody interference, and the absence of booster vaccination. Depolarized katuk groups tended to show better humoral immune responses than the control and katuk leaf meal groups. Depolarized katuk leaves may therefore have potential as a feed additive to support immune responses in broiler chickens
