      Efektivitas Infusa Daun Mangrove Api-api (Avicennia marina) sebagai Antipiretik pada Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus)

      Abstract
      Demam merupakan mekanisme adaptif tubuh yang bermanfaat, namun dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif, jika berlangsung lama dengan intensitas tinggi. Demam dapat ditangani dengan obat antipiretik lini pertama, seperti parasetamol, namun penggunaan parasetamol yang berkepanjangan mengakibatkan efek samping yang tidak diinginkan sehingga mendorong penggunaan alternatif penurun demam. Salah satunya adalah tanaman herbal, seperti tanaman mangrove api-api (Avicennia marina) yang berpotensi memiliki aktivitas antipiretik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi profil fitokimia dan menguji efektivitas dari infusa daun mangrove api-api (Avicennia marina) sebagai antipiretik. Uji in vivo menggunakan 20 ekor tikus putih yang diinduksi pepton 5% secara subkutan, kemudian dibagi menjadi lima kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kontrol positif (parasetamol), kontrol negatif (akuades), infusa konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 40%. Skrining fitokimia mengonfirmasi keberadaan senyawa alkaloid, steroid, tanin, dan saponin. Hasil uji in vivo membuktikan seluruh variasi konsentrasi infusa secara signifikan menurunkan suhu rektal pada menit ke-120 dan 150 (p < 0,05). Konsentrasi 10% menunjukkan penurunan suhu rektal yang paling cepat memberikan respon.
       
      Fever is a beneficial adaptive mechanism of the body, but it can have negative effects if it persists for a long time and is highly intense. Fever can be treated with first-line antipyretic drugs, such as paracetamol. However, prolonged use of paracetamol can cause undesirable side effects, prompting the use of alternative fever-reducing agents. One of them is herbal plants, such as the mangrove api-api plant (Avicennia marina) which has the potential to have antipyretic activity. This study aims to identify the phytochemical profile and evaluate the effectiveness of the api-api mangrove (Avicennia marina) leaf infusion as an antipyretic. The in vivo test utilized 20 white rats induced with 5% peptone subcutaneously, which were then divided into five treatment groups: positive control (paracetamol), negative control (distilled water), and infusion concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 40%. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of alkaloid, steroid, tannin, and saponin compounds. The in vivo test results proved that all variations in infusion concentration significantly reduced rectal temperature at 120 and 150 minutes (p < 0.05). The 10% concentration demonstrated the fastest response in reducing rectal temperature.
