      Simpanan Karbon Tanah pada Hutan Alam dan Areal Rehabilitasi Blok Citalahab Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun Salak

      Abstract
      Pemanasan global yang dipicu oleh peningkatan konsentrasi gas rumah kaca, khususnya karbon dioksida (CO2), memengaruhi keseimbangan iklim global. Tanah berperan penting sebagai penyimpan karbon jangka panjang karena mampu menyimpan karbon dalam jumlah besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis simpanan karbon tanah pada ekosistem Hutan Alam dan Areal Rehabilitasi Blok Citalahab Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun Salak. Penelitian menggunakan metode systematic sampling dengan lima plot berukuran 20 m × 20 m pada masing-masing lokasi. Sampel tanah dianalisis untuk menentukan bulk density dan kandungan C-organik, kemudian diuji menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa hutan alam memiliki kandungan C-organik lebih tinggi (6,95%) dibandingkan areal rehabilitasi (2,87%). Nilai bulk density pada hutan alam lebih rendah (0,73 g/cm³) dibandingkan areal rehabilitasi (1,11 g/cm³). Simpanan karbon tanah pada hutan alam (101,35 ton/ha) lebih tinggi dibandingkan areal rehabilitasi (63,14 ton/ha), dengan perbedaan yang signifikan (p < 0,05). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa tipe tutupan lahan berpengaruh kuat terhadap kapasitas penyimpanan karbon tanah.
       
      Global warming caused by increasing greenhouse gas concentrations, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2), affects the global climate balance. Soil functions as an important long-term carbon sink due to its capacity to store large amounts of carbon. This study aimed to analyze soil carbon stocks in the Natural Forest and Rehabilitation Area of the Citalahab Block Gunung Halimun Salak National Park. Soil samples were collected from five 20 m × 20 m plots at each site and analyzed for bulk density and organic carbon content. The results showed that the natural forest had higher organic carbon content ( 6,95% ) and lower bulk density (0,73 g/cm³) than the rehabilitation area, which had an organic carbon content of (2,87%) and a bulk density of (1,11 g/cm³). Soil carbon stocks were higher in the natural forest (101,35 ton/ha) than in the rehabilitation area (63,14 ton/ha), and the difference was statistically significant (p < 0,05). These findings indicate that land cover type influences soil carbon storage capacity.
