      Abstract

Biofertilizer are a sustainable agriculture innovation containing function microorganisms that enhance nutrient availability and soil fertility. One such product is Provibio, which consist of nine beneficial microorganisms for plants, namely: nitrogen-fixing bacteria (N2) (Azospirillum lipoferum ICBB 6088 and Azotobacter vinelandii ICBB 9098), root nodule-forming bacteria (Bradyrhizobium japonicum ICBB 9251), plant growth hormone producers (Lactobacillus sp. ICBB 6099), odor-degrading microbes (Saccharomyces cerevisiae ICBB 8808), cellulose-degading microbes (Microbacterium lactium ICBB 7125), lignin degading microbes (Phanerochaete sp. ICBB 9182), decomposers (Paenibacillus macerans ICBB 8810), and pest-controlling bacteria (Bacillus thuringiensis ICBB 6095). This study was conducted from May to December 2025 at ICBB and center of excellence Laboratory, IPB Biotechnology Center. The experimental design used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four treatments. Field experiments were carried out using plots measuring 2.5 x 2.5 m, with the following treatments: P0.K1 (50% chemical fertilizer), P0.K2 (100% chemical fertilizer), P1.K1 (Provibio + KNO3 + 50% chemical fertilizer), and P2.K1 (Provibio + Provibio + ZnSO4·7H2O + CuSO4 + 50% chemical fertilizer). Observed parameters included total soil microbes (TPC), enzyme activity, pH, organic C, total N, available P, and cation exchange capacity (CEC). Data were analyzed using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the combination of Provibio and 50% chemical fertilizer increased soil microbial activity, organic C content, and fertilization efficiency compared to the single application of chemical fertilizers. The combined treatment was also able to maintain rice productivity with reduced chemical fertilizer usage. It can be concluded that the integration of biofertilizers with Urea, SP36, and KCL fertilizers has the potential to improve soil fertility and rice productivity in a more efficient and sustainable manner. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of Provibio application and scheduling on the growth and yield of IF20 rice during the vegetative phase, as well as to determine the optimal combination of dosage and application timing for rice cultivation.
