      Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of commercial protein substitution using tofu dregs solid waste at different levels (P1: 40%, P2: 50%, P3: 60%) on the growth performance and survival of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) compared to the control (P0). Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), the parameters measured included Absolute Weight Gain (WG), Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Feed Efficiency (FE), and Survival Rate(SR). The results of the ANOVA analysis showed that the tofu dregs substitution treatment did not have a significant effect (ns, p > 0.05) on all observed tilapia performance parameters, although the average of P1 tended to be the highest (WG: 8.09 ± 2.43 g; SGR: 2.26 ± 0.86 day-1). The conclusion shows that tofu dregs protein is able to maintain the performance of tilapia fish equivalent to commercial feed, proving the potential of tofu dregs solid waste as a safe alternative protein source up to a 60% substitution level.
