Global climate change has highlighted the need for mitigation efforts through the productive and sustainable use of forest lands. The Productive Carbon Forest (HKP) Program was initiated to support PT Astra International Tbk.'s “Astra Carbon Offsetting” initiative in collaboration with IPB University and partner farmers from the Al Bayyinah Cooperative in Garut Regency. This study aims to analyze behavioral changes among coffee farmers through capacity building in the form of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training, and to examine the influence of farmer characteristics on these changes and their impact on GAP implementation. A quantitative approach was employed with a pre-test and post-test design. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, ordinal logistic regression, and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that GAP training significantly improved farmers’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills (Sig. < 0.001). Characteristics such as education, age, farming experience, and land area partially influenced behavioral changes. However, these changes did not significantly affect the level of GAP implementation, likely due to external constraints such as limited seed availability. These findings underscore the importance of continuous support and provision of necessary inputs to ensure that training efforts effectively translate into sustainable coffee cultivation practices.
