      Abstract

Ranchu goldfish Carassius auratus is an ornamental fish species with high economic value; however, its growth during the fry stage tends to be relatively slow. Improving the quality of live feed through nutritional enrichment is considered one potential solution. This study provides recommendations regarding the optimal dosage of Daphnia sp. enrichment using commercial milk, as well as additional insights for ranchu goldfish farmers to enhance fry growth performance. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design with three treatments: control (without enrichment), enrichment with commercial milk at a dose of 0.6 g/L (A), and enrichment with commercial milk at a dose of 1.2 g/L (B), each with three replications. The observed parameters included absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, specific growth rate, feed efficiency, and survival rate. The results indicated that treatment A produced the best growth performance, with a length of 6.81±0.01 cm, weight of 2.30±0.01 g, and feed efficiency of 43.53±6.00%. Nutritional enrichment of Daphnia sp. with 0.6 g/L commercial milk was proven effective in improving the growth performance of ranchu goldfish fry.
