      Abstract

The Bintan Mangrove area is an ecotourism destination with significant potential for sustainable development. This study aims to design the development of tourism facilities and activities that enhance comfort, education, aesthetics, and environmental preservation. The methods used include field observation, documentation, and the distribution of closed-ended questionnaires to visitors. Questionnaire results show that the most favored activities are ecoprint, cultural performances, mangrove Tracking, and Bird watching. To support these activities, new facilities were designed, including the Eco space, Cultural space, Tracking Pathway, and Observation Tower. Additionally, existing facilities such as toilets, parking areas, a merchandise gallery, jetty, footpaths, street lighting, and signboards were also improved. The designs incorporate environmentally friendly local materials such as nibung and balau wood. The outcomes of this design are expected to enhance the quality of tourist experiences while generating positive social and economic impacts for the local community..
