      Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of chicken manure as a biostimulation agent in reducing total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) levels in soil contaminated by used oil. The method used was ex-situ bioremediation through co-composting over 21 days, applying various doses of chicken manure (0, 100, 200, and 300 g) to 400 grams of contaminated soil. Parameters measured included TPH, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), pH, and temperature. The results showed that the treatment with 300 g of chicken manure (P3) reduced TPH levels by up to 61.83% and increased N, P, and K content to meet or approach soil quality standards. Pearson correlation indicated a very strong relationship between TPH reduction and nutrient enhancement. Thus, chicken manure is proven to be an effective biostimulant to accelerate hydrocarbon degradation in oil-contaminated soil.
