dc.description.abstractStrategi komunikasi digital menjadi pendekatan yang penting dalam penyampaian pesan edukatif kepada masyarakat, khususnya dalam isu lingkungan seperti pengelolaan sampah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi digital yang diterapkan oleh Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DLHK DIY) melalui media sosial Instagram @dlhkdiy, dalam menyampaikan edukasi pengelolaan sampah kepada masyarakat Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Data diperoleh melalui partisipasi aktif saat kegiatan magang, observasi langsung, studi pustaka, dan wawancara mendalam dengan Tim Sosial Media Spesialis, Analis Sistem Informasi, Petugas Lapangan Tempat Pembuangan Sampah DLHK DIY, dan Pengikut Aktif Instagram DLHK DIY. Fokus penelitian berada pada aktivitas unggahan Instagram selama Februari 2025 dan merujuk pada strategi komunikasi digital yang disusun berdasarkan analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi digital DLHK DIY mencakup pemanfaatan berbagai fitur Instagram seperti feed, reels, dan story yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik audiens. Konten edukatif dirancang dengan pendekatan visual, interaktif, dan partisipatif seperti kampanye #PilahSampahChallenge, kuis, hingga webinar lingkungan. Segmentasi audiens dilakukan berdasarkan usia dan latar belakang pendidikan, dengan konten yang disesuaikan agar mudah dipahami dan menarik perhatian. Selain itu, strategi ini diperkuat dengan dukungan program pemerintah seperti Jogja Hijau dan Desa Zero Waste, serta kolaborasi dengan komunitas lingkungan, sekolah, dan tokoh masyarakat. Berdasarkan analisis SWOT, DLHK DIY perlu mengoptimalkan kekuatannya seperti jangkauan Instagram yang luas dan kemampuan tim kreatif dalam menyusun konten. Peluang dari tingginya penetrasi internet di DIY harus dimanfaatkan untuk memperluas edukasi digital. Di sisi lain, tantangan dan kelemahan harus diantisipasi dengan pendekatan integratif antara media digital dan intervensi luring seperti sosialisasi langsung. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi komunikasi digital melalui Instagram dapat menjadi sarana edukatif yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah, apabila dijalankan secara adaptif, konsisten, dan berbasis data. Hasil ini memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi DLHK DIY dalam mengembangkan konten edukasi lingkungan yang lebih tepat sasaran dan mendorong perubahan perilaku masyarakat yang lebih berkelanjutan.
dc.description.abstractDigital communication strategies have become essential in delivering educational messages to the public, especially on environmental issues such as waste management. This study aims to analyze the digital communication strategy implemented by the Environmental and Forestry Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DLHK DIY) through its Instagram account @dlhkdiy in educating the public on waste management. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm. Data were collected through active participation during an internship, direct observation, literature study, and in-depth interviews with the Social Media Specialist Team, Information Systems Analyst, DLHK DIY Field Officers, and active Instagram followers of DLHK DIY. The focus of the study is on Instagram activity during February 2025 and uses a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis framework to examine the communication strategy. The findings reveal that DLHK DIY's digital communication strategy involves utilizing various Instagram features such as feed, reels, and stories tailored to audience characteristics. Educational content is designed to be visual, interactive, and participatory, through campaigns like #PilahSampahChallenge, quizzes, and environmental webinars. Audience segmentation is based on age and educational background, with content made accessible and engaging. The strategy is further strengthened by government programs such as Jogja Hijau and Desa Zero Waste, as well as collaborations with environmental communities, schools, and public figures. Based on SWOT analysis, DLHK DIY should optimize its strengths, such as the wide reach of Instagram and the creative team's content development skills. Opportunities arising from high internet penetration in the region should be leveraged to expand digital education. On the other hand, challenges and weaknesses must be addressed through an integrative approach combining digital media with offline interventions such as direct socialization. This study concludes that Instagram-based digital communication strategies can serve as effective educational tools for increasing public awareness and participation in waste management, provided they are implemented adaptively, consistently, and data-driven. The results offer practical recommendations for DLHK DIY to develop more targeted environmental education content and foster more sustainable public behavior.
