      Abstract
STEVANI PUTRI. STEVANI PUTRI. Strategy for Reducing Non-Reporting Product Link Devices on Caterpillar Units at PT Trakindo Utama. Supervisor PURANA INDRAWAN PT Trakindo Utama is a leading company in Indonesia specializing in the provision of heavy equipment solutions and serves as the sole authorized dealer of the Caterpillar brand in the country. In its continuous efforts to enhance service quality and operational efficiency, Trakindo Utama consistently prioritizes the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. One of the flagship technologies implemented is Product Link, a remote monitoring system designed for heavy equipment units, which enables real-time and accurate performance tracking. To date, a total of 5,450 units have been equipped with the Product Link system. However, challenges have arisen in its implementation, as 1,344 units have been identified as non-reporting, meaning they fail to transmit data to the company's database. To address this issue, the initial step taken by the company was to conduct a root cause identification using the Seven Tools and Root Cause Analysis methodologies. The results of the analysis revealed that the most frequent cause of non-reporting cases is the presence of particles or physical obstructions interfering with device performance, identified in 364 units, or approximately 27% of the total cases. The presence of these particles was analyzed across several contributing factors, namely: Manpower, Method, Material, Measurement, Machine, and Environment. With a comprehensive understanding of these root causes, it is expected that the company will be able to formulate appropriate, targeted, and sustainable solutions to improve the reliability of the Product Link system and support more optimal operational performance moving forward.
