      Karakteristik Kimia dan Aktivitas Antioksidan Lignin Bambu Betung Hasil Ekstraksi dengan Pelarut Eutektik

      Abstract
      Bambu Betung (Dendrocalamus asper Backer ex K. Heyne) adalah jenis bambu yang populer ditanam di Indonesia. Bambu ini mengandung banyak lignoselulosa, termasuk lignin, selulosa, dan hemiselulosa, yang memiliki potensi untuk biofuel dan bahan kimia dalam platform biorefinery. Pelarut eutektik dalam (DES) merupakan salah satu jenis pelarut hijau yang paling menjanjikan untuk ekstraksi lignin. Penelitian ini mengkaji sifat kimia dan aktivitas antioksidan lignin bambu yang diekstraksi menggunakan DES dalam dua pendekatan: tanpa air (PCO1) dan dengan penambahan 20% air (PCO2). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memproduksi lignin berkualitas tinggi melalui proses ekstraksi hijau dan mengkarakterisasinya. Penelitian ini mengkaji hasil lignin, kandungan air, kemurnian, kelompok fungsional (FTIR), dan aktivitas antioksidan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa lignin PCO1 memiliki hasil yang lebih tinggi dengan kemurnian yang lebih tinggi. FTIR menunjukkan adanya kelompok fungsional lignin, termasuk kelompok hidroksil (O-H), kelompok metil dan metilen (C-H), serta struktur aromatik seperti ikatan C=C dan C-O, serta aktivitas antioksidan yang lebih tinggi daripada PCO2. Penambahan air ke DES membuatnya kurang efektif dalam ekstraksi lignin dan menurunkan nilai kemurnian pada lignin.
       
      Betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper Backer ex K. Heyne) is a popular type of bamboo grown in Indonesia. It has a lot of lignocellulose, including lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose that has potential for biofuels and chemicals in a biorefinery platform. Deep eutectic solvents (DES) are one of the most promising types of green solvents for extracting lignin. This study investigated the chemical properties and antioxidant activity of bamboo lignin that was extracted using DES in two approaches: without water (PCO1) and with 20% addition (PCO2). The goal was to produce high-quality lignin by the green extraction process and characterize it. This study investigated lignin's yield, moisture content, purity, functional groups (FTIR), and antioxidant activity. The results showed that PCO1 lignin had more yield with higher purity. FTIR showed the presence of functional groups lignin include hydroxyl group (O-H), methyl and methylene groups (C-H), as well as aromatic structures such as C=C and C-O bonds. PCO1 has higher antioxidant activity than PCO2. The addition of water to DES made it less effective at the extraction of lignin and lowered the purity of lignin.
