      Abstract

The APJ Employee Self Service (ESS) application built by PT Asta Protek Jiarsi (APJ) provides services to employees to update personal data, perform attendance, record overtime, etc. Testing on this application needs to be done to identify and correct defects or failures in the system. Testing is done using the black box method, namely state transition testing and equivalence partitioning techniques. The results of testing the APJ ESS application using the state transition testing method showed that 6 out of 35 test cases failed, resulting in an effectiveness value of 82%. Meanwhile, the equivalence partitioning method showed 33 failures out of 111 test cases, with an effectiveness value of 70%. Overall, out of 146 test cases, there were 107 successful cases and 39 failed cases. This application still has some minor failures that cause the system to give incorrect or inconsistent results that can be fixed in future updates.
