      Abstract

Pine logging residues can arise from technical errors in the field or inadequate harvesting planning policies. These residues can include stumps, branches, tops, and remaining wood of the stem without branches from felled trees. The research was conducted in the Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan (KPH) Kedu Selatan with pine trees as the subject of study. The study aimed to analyze the potential of logging residues, harvesting efficiency, and the factors influencing the volume of residues at the research site. A purposive sampling method was employed with a sample size of 64 trees. The results showed that the average volume of residues per tree in the harvested plot was 0,428 m³. Based on slope inclination, the highest volume of residues was found on moderately steep slopes at 0,49 m³/tree. In terms of diameter, trees with a diameter of 61-70 cm produced the most residues at 0,67 m³/tree. For total height, trees with a height of 31-40 m generated the highest volume of residues at 0,57 m³/tree. The logging efficiency was calculated to be 58,48%, while the percentage of residues was 41,52%. Research findings indicate that slope, diameter, and total height collectively impact the volume of residues generated.
