      Penghilangan Warna Broke Idle Menggunakan Reductive Bleaching Agent dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Kualitas Pengolahan Air Limbah

      Abstract
      Broke idle tidak dapat kembali digunakan dalam pembuatan kertas. Salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi volume broke idle yakni melakukan penelitian untuk mendaur ulang broke idle sehingga menghasilkan pulp berwarna putih dan bersifat universal sehingga dapat digunakan kembali dalam proses pembuatan kertas berwarna apapun. Pemutihan broke idle dilakukan dengan agen pereduksi natrium hidrosulfit. Penggunaan dosis 10 kg/TP agen pereduksi menghasilkan pulp dengan kriteria kertas putih dengan nilai L* berada di atas 90 dan nilai kromositas di bawah 10,0. Pengujian sifat optik dan sifat fisik kertas hasil penelitian memenuhi standar perusahaan. Pengujian kualitas air sisa proses dan air limbah penggunaan dosis 10 kg/TP berada di bawah baku mutu yang ditetapkan, selain itu adanya kehadiran mikroorganisme rotifera bdelloid dan ciliata free-swimming yang aktif bergerak pada setiap sampel menunjukkan bahwa sampel tidak terindikasi toksik dan layak untuk dikembalikan ke sungai.
       
      Broke idle cannot be reused in papermaking. To reduce the volume of broke idle is to carry out the research to recycle broke idle to produce white pulp and become universal to be reused in any color of paper making process. The bleaching process of broke idle is carried out using the reducing agent sodium hydrosulfite. Dose of 10 kg/TP of reducing agent produces pulp with white paper criteria resulting L* above 90 and chromaticity value under 10.0. The optical properties and physical properties of trial paper have a good results. The quality of process water and wastewater using a dose of 10 kg/TP was below the specified quality standard, apart from that the presence of microorganism rotifer bdelloid and free-swimming ciliates that were actively moving in each sample showed that the sample was not indicated to be toxic and was suitable to be returned to the river.
