dc.description.abstractTephrosia purpurea telah lama digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional di Asia, terutama di India. Tumbuhan ini disebut sebagai Sarapunkha (Sanskrit), Sarponkha (Hindi), Fish Poison atau wild Indigo (Bahasa Inggris). T. purpurea telah digunakan dalam bidang kosmetik, suplemen, obat-obatan, dan biopestisida. Berkembangnya permintaan biji T. purpurea oleh industri dan tantangan untuk mempertahankan kualitas menyebabkan perlu adanya metode budidaya terutama pemupukan untuk menjamin ketersediaan dan kualitas biji yang akan diekstraksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemupukan terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi, dan kandungan fenolik biji tanaman T. purpurea. Prosedur percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) satu faktor yang terdiri dari 27 perlakuan pemupukan dan salah satunya sebagai kontrol (tanpa pemberian NPK). Kombinasi antara dosis pemupukan 0 kg ha-1, 30 kg ha-1, dan 60 kg ha-1 untuk masing-masing pupuk nitrogen (N), fosfor (P), dan kalium (K). Setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali, sehingga terdapat 81 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 16 tanaman. Benih ditanam langsung di polibag yang sudah disiapkan dengan campuran tanah dan pupuk kandang 5:1 v/v. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan pemupukan hingga taraf 60kg ha-1 tidak berpengaruh nyata pada tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun. Pemberian perlakuan pemupukan tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap rata-rata bobot kering tajuk, tetapi berpengaruh nyata pada bobot kering akar. Sementara itu, persentase bobot tajuk terhadap bobot kering brangkasan per tanaman menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata. Perlakuan pemupukan memberikan pengaruh nyata pada jumlah rangkaian bunga di minggu ke-10. Tidak ada perbedaan nyata dari perlakuan pemupukan terhadap jumlah polong per rangkaian bunga. Perlakuan pemupukan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua komponen produksi. Komponen produksi yang diamati meliputi jumlah polong per tanaman, jumlah biji per tanaman, dan jumlah biji per polong. Tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah rangkaian bunga, jumlah polong per rangkaian, dan jumlah biji per polong secara nyata berkorelasi positif antar peubah. Kecuali jumlah bunga per rangkaian tidak berkorelasi dengan peubah lain. Jumlah biji per polong dan bobot biji per tanaman tergolong berkorelasi kuat dengan peubah jumlah daun dan rangkaian bunga. Hasil uji pigmen daun menunjukkan tidak adanya pengaruh pigmen terhadap produksi fenol di biji. Peubah vegetatif menunjang peubah-peubah produksi dengan interaksi N dan P yang akhirnya akan mempengaruhi kandungan fenol biji per tanaman. Kadar fenol total GAE (ekuivalen asam galat) paling tinggi pada perlakuan kontrol, tetapi kandungan fenol biji per tanaman paling baik pada interaksi perlakuan N60 dan P30.
dc.description.abstractTephrosia purpurea, traditionally known as Sarapunkha in Sanskrit, Sarponkha in Hindi, and commonly referred to as Fish Poison or Wild Indigo in English, has been extensively utilized in traditional medicine across Asia, particularly in India. Its application spans cosmetics, supplements, pharmaceuticals, and biopesticides. With increasing industrial demand for T. purpurea seeds and challenges in maintaining seed quality, there is a critical need for optimized cultivation methods, particularly fertilization, to ensure seed availability and quality. This study investigates the effects of fertilization on the growth, yield, and phenolic content of T. purpurea seeds using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with one factor encompassing 27 fertilization treatments, including a control (no NPK application). The experimental setup comprised 27 fertilization treatments with combinations of 0, 30, and 60 kg ha-1 for each of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P2O5), and potassium (K2O) fertilizers. Each treatment was replicated three times, resulting in 81 experimental units. Each unit consisted of 16 plants grown in polybags prepared with a soil-to-manure mixture at a 5:1 v/v ratio. Fertilization up to 60 kg ha-1 had no significant effect on plant height or leaf count. While there was no significant impact on the average dry weight of the shoot, a significant effect was observed on the root dry weight. Additionally, the ratio of shoot dry weight to total dry biomass per plant was significantly affected. Fertilization significantly influenced the number of flower clusters by the 10th week. However, no significant differences were found in the number of pods per flower cluster across the treatments. There was no significant effect of fertilization on all observed yield components, including the number of pods per plant, seeds per plant, and seeds per pod. Plant height, leaf number, number of flower clusters, number of pods per cluster, and number of seeds per pod showed significant positive correlations among variables. However, the number of flowers per cluster did not correlate with other variables. The number of seeds per pod and seed weight per plant were strongly correlated with the number of leaves and flower clusters. Leaf pigment tests showed no effect of pigment on phenol production in seeds. Vegetative variables support production variables with N and P interactions, which ultimately affect the phenolic content per plant. The highest total phenol content in GAE (gallic acid equivalent) was found in the control treatment, but the best phenolic content per plant was observed with the N60 and P30 treatment interaction.
