Title of this research is "Community-Based Flood Disaster Risk Mitigation Strategy on Sugi River Banks, Tarempa Sub District, Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency". The aim of this research is to identify disaster risk reduction efforts; Assessing community perceptions of flood disaster management and formulating community-based disaster risk reduction strategies. The research show that community empowerment programs/activities have been implemented, but not adequate due to limited human resources and lack of budget allocation. The strategies formulated in this research include: (1) Disaster Resilient Villages (DESTANA), (2) Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (PRB), and (3) Community-Based Reforestation. This research uses Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, from the results of the assessment DESTANA has the highest score: 0.715, the PRB forum scores: 0.217 and Community-based Reforestation scores: 0.068. DESTANA was chosen as the highest alternative because it accommodates a wide range of programs/activities for the preparation and implementation of community-based flood disaster mitigation strategies. The Government along with the community need to formulate organized and sustainable action plan by using local wisdom to mitigate flood disasters. Pentahelix stakeholders need to make joint efforts to rehabilitate hydrological functions in river bank and water catchment areas. | |
