      Abstract

Ibuprofen is generally analyzed by HPLC using a diode array detector but the availability of the company's detector is a UV detector so this study aims to develop a new method with a UV detector which is expected to be applied based on the analysis results and acceptance criteria. The results of the two new methods were compared with the results of the method using a diode array detector as a reference. The first method at ? 254 nm and the second method at ? 210 nm with different instrument conditions. The results showed that the average concentrations of the reference method; first method; second method were 4.03; 4.14; 4.06 mg/mL. The average difference was further analyzed by statistical analysis of the correlation test which resulted in a significant difference and then looked at the factors with uncertainty estimation which obtained an X±U value of 4.00±0.31 mg/mL. The influence of the column is seen based on the value of N, R, Tf and plate height. The conclusion of the study is that the second method is an effective method in terms of concentration and chromatogram results and Post Hoc test.
